This free training event for BLA Business Librarians includes...

Registration & refreshments: 10am for a 10.15 start.

Prezi training: 10.15am - 1pm

Prezi is the free, dynamic presentation software that might be spelling the death of PowerPoint. It allows you to create zooming, 'moving' presentations that are fresh and interesting to watch. Come learn how to make a Prezi, use it for teaching purposes, best practices for making Prezis, and tips for making good presentations.

Your trainer: Meg Westbury, Judge Busines School, University of Cambridge

Free lunch included! If you have any dietary requirements, please email Stephen Bull at University of Birmingham (s.a.bull@bham.ac.uk) by Monday 6th February.

Teachmeet: 2-4pm

Come prepared with your 7, 5 or a 2 minute sharing session using your chosen method of presentation e.g. PowerPoint, Prezi, a poster, a drama sketch, lead a conversation on a chosen topic etc. etc.   Be as creative as you want! Email us with the topic you will be presenting on plus your chosen timeslot e.g. 7, 5 or 2 minutes (Stephanie Allen s.allen@worc.ac.uk & Alison Sharman a.sharman@hud.ac.uk).

Venue: University of Birmingham

Travel instructions can be found at: www.birmingham.ac.uk/contact/directions/edgbaston-directions.aspx and the campus map at: www.birmingham.ac.uk/Documents/university/edgbaston-map.pdf (pages 1 and 2).

The Learning Centre, where the training will take place, is building R28 on the campus map and is about 1 minute’s walk from the University’s train station. The train station is approx 8 minutes out of Birmingham New Street station. Most (if not all) London Midland trains heading to Redditch or Longbridge should stop at University (which is the 2nd stop out of New Street: Five Ways being the first).

For those coming by car, the nearest car parks which visitors can use are the North Car Park and Prichatts Road Car Park. Both car parks are pay and display. Parking is quite expensive so if you are coming by car please email Stephen Bull at University of Birmingham (s.a.bull@bham.ac.uk) in advance who may be able to arrange pre-bought parking permits at a reduced rate.

Please note that there are a maximum of 24 places at this event. To run the event we need a minimum of 12 people attending.

Registration ends on 4th February 2012.

Any questions? Please email: Stephanie Allen s.allen@worc.ac.uk or Alison Sharman a.sharman@hud.ac.uk
